You could spend weeks exploring everything that Murray Bridge and the Murraylands has to offer. Prior to arrival, take some time to explore the excellent tourism website and, once you’re here, pop in to the Visitor Information Centre for all your hard copy maps, pamphlets and merchandise. There is a SA Water drinking fountain (BYOB) just outside to fill your water bottle and plenty of parking.
If you’d like to enjoy the river (talk like a local and call it the River Murray and not the Murray River!) you can book a cruise with Captain Proud Paddle Boat Cruises or the Proud Mary. The Murray Princess berths at Mannum but you’ll be able to see her when she docks for a visit. If you have your own kayak or canoe you can take the Murray Bridge Water Discovery Trail.

The avid walkers can explore the region by foot. All abilities are catered for. You can start by walking into town via the lagoon where you’ll see a variety of bird life. If you’re here with your pooch, Kinchina Conservation Park and the Riverglades Community Wetlands Walking Trail allow dogs on leads.
If you like your ‘good walk spoiled’ the Murray Bridge Golf Club welcomes visitors. If you prefer larger and heavier balls Bridge Bowl is open daily.

The history buffs can make an appointment to view the Captain’s Cottage, swing past St John the Baptist Cathedral (the smallest cathedral in Australia), and take a guided tour of The Round House. If you’re South Australian and visited Murray Bridge as a child, you’re sure to remember The Mulyawonk (Bunyip). She’s now free to view since her facelift in 2018.
No visit to the region would be complete without seeing the largest pioneer village in the southern hemisphere (Old Tailem Town Pioneer Village) and, if you’re taking in the Fleurieu Peninsula, the Steam Ranger Heritage Railway has daily departures.
If our own menagerie isn’t enough, you can spend a day at Monarto Safari Park and the Murray Bridge Racing Club.
If you aren’t fed up with driving and are looking for some more action, the Speedway and The Bend Motorsport Park will soothe your inner rev-head. Wander across to Strathalbyn to check out their classic cars.

If you’d like to take to the skies, Rotor-Sport Biplane and Gyroplane will have you up in the air with a qualified instructor. If all that sounds far too energetic, chill out at Cameo Cinema and take in an exhibition at the Murray Bridge Regional Gallery.
If you’re exhausted reading about all the fun to be had, why not grab a good book from Fiction and Friction and a bottle of our local Willow Point wine.
